14th Annual Scientific Session

On June 9, 2024, Vision Care proudly hosted its 14th Annual Scientific Session at Marino Beach Hotel. This esteemed gathering featured presentations by Vision Care Academy’s optometry and dispensing staff, who showcased their groundbreaking research through both oral and poster presentations. The event recognized excellence in research with awards in various categories.|

We were honored by the presence of our Chief Guest, Ms. Rowena McNamara, Senior Consultant Orthoptist, and Guest of Honor, Dr. (Mrs.) Muditha Kulatunga, Senior Consultant Eye Surgeon. Esteemed speakers including Prof. Madhuwanthi Dissanayake, Dr. (Mrs.) Ganga Jayasena, Mrs. Anantha Lakshmi, and Mrs. Jayashree Sekar shared their invaluable insights, further enriching the session.

The panel of judges comprised distinguished professionals such as Dr. Dimuthu Gunasekara, Dr. Prasad Hewawasam, Mrs. Anantha Lakshmi, Dr. Upali Mendis, and Dr. Amila De Alwis, all contributing their expertise to the discernment of outstanding contributions.

The session also included the announcement of the photography contest winner and the culmination of a quiz competition. These activities, along with the sharing of innovative research and knowledge, underscore our commitment to advancing the optometry industry.
